We are building our own foundation.
We close the control gap for our clients. The Engine Room is us closing it on our own: sovereign compute, storage and AI, owned outright and kept inside South Africa. Launching January 2027.
Under construction. This page describes what we are building and why, and will be updated as it comes online.
A data-first firm should run on infrastructure it owns.
The Engine Room is our own on-premise facility. Our servers, our storage, our network, our AI, owned outright and which will run inside South Africa. It will run the firm, host what we make, and keep data in the country and under our control. It is not a product we sell. It is the ground everything else stands on.
Your data should live where your laws do.
South African data will be held in South Africa, on hardware we own. No reseller in the path to your records and no quiet hop offshore. The design is network isolation, encryption, controlled access, and immutable backups that are tested rather than assumed. Compliance you can point at, not promise.
THE DESIGN: SOUTH AFRICAN DATA STAYS IN SOUTH AFRICA
The intelligence sits next to the data, not an ocean away.
Everyone wants AI. Few can land it safely. Ours will run inside the Engine Room, beside the data it works on. Sensitive information will be processed where it sits. External models will be gated, de-identified, and used by consent only.
It ties the whole firm together.
Satchel & Boot is a compounding ecosystem, not a list of offerings. The App Factory builds the tools. The Satchel runs the firm. Our products reach the market. LUMA points the same engine at a different kind of return. Until now all of it has lived on rented ground.

Working software, on our own iron.
Detail
Staged, run and scaled on compute we own. Nothing waiting on a reseller.
The Satchel
Our operating system, hosted sovereign.
Detail
The compounding loop will run on ground we control.
TessaMed
Healthcare data, kept in the country.
Detail
The compliance posture is the product, not an afterthought.
CAPS Ingqondo
Learning, powered and protected.
Detail
Hosted where learner data stays safe and local.
Engagements
Every project gets a governed home.
Detail
A governed data supply chain, not a scatter of links and drives.
LUMA
The same engine, a different return.
Detail
Not charity bolted on.
HAVEN. A sealed room within the room.
Some work needs more than a secure home. It needs an airlock. For audits, due diligence, investigations and sensitive transitions, HAVEN is being built as a controlled environment where data enters, is worked, and leaves clean.
HOW HAVEN IS BEING BUILT TO WORK
- 01Controlled inONE GOVERNED PIPELINENO LOOSE LINKS OR DRIVES
- 02Worked in placeSEALED ENVIRONMENT - VPN ONLYDATAANALYSTS AND AI BESIDE THE DATANOTHING EXPORTED FROM INSIDE
- 03Clean outHANDED BACKWIPED TO CERTIFICATE
NO COPIES, NO SIDE CHANNELS
Controlled in
A governed pipeline will bring the right data in. No loose links, no drives, no copies in the wild. Provenance from the start.
Worked in place
A partitioned space will be reachable only over VPN, with our analysts and AI working beside the data, never exporting it.
Clean out
Data will be handed back and the environment wiped to certificate. Time-boxed and auditable end to end.
Bare-bones is not the same as bare.
We will not cut the two things that matter: clean power that never drops uncleanly, and backup that is tested rather than assumed. The rest grows methodically as we do.
Owned hardware on our own property in South Africa.
Per-tenant separation, firewall policy, VPN-only access.
Designed for 3-2-1 immutable backup, with restores tested.
Access controlled and escorted, every action logged. Built toward ISO 27001.
Built in Africa. Built to last.
We are converting a rented cost into an owned advantage, and pointing it at the work.
